This series of blog posts are assignments of my CS 371p course.

1. What did you do this past week?

In addition to academics, I’ve been trying to maintain a healthier sleep schedule last week, going to bed and waking up earlier and earlier.

2. What’s in your way?

Mainly schoolwork again. I am staying at home rather than on campus this semester, and so there isn’t a lot of opportunities for anything else. The next two weeks will be quite critical for this course, so I’ll have to be prepared as best as I can.

3. What will you do next week?

Since I have more time in the morning from waking up earlier, I was thinking of going on a run on the treadmill every other day next week. I feel more sluggish and less energetic than before, and so hopefully running and exercising more will stop this negative trend. Additionally, our test is the week after the next, so I’ll be trying to finish the project as soon as I can and study for it.

4. If you read it, what did you think of Why Is Silicon Valley So Awful to Women?

I thought the read was very interesting and presented a view of Silicon Valley that a lot of us were not familiar with. I feel everyone in the tech industry should keep the lessons from article in mind and have an open eye in preventing discrimination whenever we can.

5. What was your experience of arrays, equal(), and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)

I had experiences working with these in Java and Python, but never as in-depth, which is a common trend for topics in this class, I feel like. It is always good to know the tools you are using more in detail to utilize it fully.

6. What made you happy this week?

I was happy that the schooldays for this week was over, as I was stressed with the test and homework in my Real Analysis course. I feel like everything within this course is interconnected, and it’s getting harder to keep track of what implies what as more material is taught.

7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

When faced with something difficult, such as waking up super early, I feel it is best to tackle this little by little, setting the alarm just a bit earlier each time, rather than going all out at first.
